Positive Solutions for Families provides an evidence-based, user-friendly workshop series of seven sessions (2hrs each) to help professionals working with parents and family caregivers to promote positive and effective parenting behaviors, which will, in turn, promote children’s social and emotional development and address the challenging behavior of children ages 2-5 years.

Sessions topics include:
(1) Making the Connection- You will learn ways to build connections with your child, and use positive encouragement.

(2) Keeping it Positive Learn how to use playful interactions to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship, understand the meaning of challenging behavior, and how to use positively stated directions. 

(3) Behavior has Meaning- Determine the meaning of children's behavior, being a behavior detective, and developing and teaching rules.

(4) The Power of Routines- Setting up successful routines and transitions and using prevention strategies. 

(5) Teach Me What to Do- Teaching emotional vocabulary, anger management, and problem-solving skills.

(6) Responding with Purpose- Understanding how to respond to challenging behaviors. 

(7) Putting it All Together with a Plan- Developing a behavior plan to use during daily routines.
