Why Pyramid 50hr Training?

PDIS Recognition – 2 Formal Education Points
Educators (including family child care providers) receive two Training of Special Recognition Points in the Formal Education component when the 50-hour Colorado Pyramid Model Training is completed with a Certified Pyramid Facilitator. ECPC Formal Education points do not expire.

Licensing Approved – Guidance Strategies College Course Alternative
Colorado Pyramid Model Training meets licensing requirements as an approved alternative to “Guidance Strategies,” a three-credit college course. Staff who complete this training can use it toward qualifying as an Early Childhood Teacher under Colorado’s licensing rules (along with meeting other requirements, or in part, to qualify as an ECT).

CDA Subject Areas: 120 required hours:  

Colorado Pyramid Model Training meets the required hours of early childhood education training. The 50 hour training meets 4 of the 8 following CDA subject areas.

  • Planning safe and healthy learning environment

  • Supporting children’s social and emotional development

  • Building productive relationships with families

  • Observing and recording children’s behavior

Optional College Credit

Colorado Pyramid Model Training can also be used as Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) in higher education institutions for ECE 103 or 1031. Upon successful completion of the training, the participant can apply as a student at an accredited Colorado university/institution and then upload their certificate, select artifacts, and additional brief reflections to get credit in the higher ed system.

Higher Education Pathway
